1 Description and Code Number.
The emergency respirator with mouthpiece MAY DAY ABEK 10 code 8000 complying with Standard DIN 58647-7,
described in this manual is Category III Personal Protective Equipment , with CE certification according to Directive 89/686/EEC as
subsequently amended, issued by the Notified Body no. 0426 ITALCERT V.le Sarca 336 Milano Italy.
2 Selection and use
The emergency respirator MAY DAY is a filtering device which must be used only in case of escapes from dangerous places.
It is the user responsibility to choose and use it. Please, read the following instructions carefully.
The emergency respirator MAY DAY protects users from organic vapours and gases with a boiling point higher than 65 °C, inorganic
vapours and gases, acidic and basic vapours and gases. Protection is limited with respect to compounds with low boiling point, for
example vapours and gases with a boiling point lower than 65°C and in highly toxic concentrations.
Emergency respirators do not protect from carbon monoxide or oxygen lack, since they do not provide oxygen. Emergency respirators
must be chosen according to their rated duration.
The duration of respirator MAY DAY is 10 minutes.
3 Applications
Emergency respirators must be used once only. In case of emergency, keep calm and do not get into a panic. Due to breathing
resistance of emergency respirators, inexperienced users may suffer breathing difficulty.
You can put MAY DAY in your overall pocket or can fasten it to your overall or trousers belt.
Warning! People with dental implants are allowed to use emergency respirators in a limited way.
To use the respirator (see Pict. 1-5), open the pack (break the seal) and take MAY DAY. Put the mouthpiece in your mouth and close
your lips around it. Put the proper clip on your nose. Breathe through your mouth only. Do not speak while using the respirator. Leave
the dangerous area.
4 Maintenance and storage
The emergency respirators MAY DAY do not require any maintenance during storage. The expiry date is shown on the
devices(hourglass symbol). Any maintenance operation must be carried out by MILLA or by authorized centres only. The emergency
respirators MAY DAY must be stored in a cool, dry and clean place. Do not open the pack before use. Broken respirators or
respirators contained in a damaged pack must be replaced.
Break the seal and open the pack by pulling the tab on its cover.
Take the filter with the mouthpiece
Put the mouthpiece in your mouth and close your lips around it.
Put the clip on your nose and breathe through your mouth only.
Do not speak during use. Leave the dangerous area.
