Connection and start-up
The IWF unit (Intermediary Wire Feeder) is supplied
ready for use with SIGMA
2
/SIGMA Galaxy and OMEGA
2
in
standard setup.
The IWF unit can be connected to a 25 m intermediary
cable.
Wire inching
When idling, wire inching can be activated by pressing
the key.

Error codes
When using the IWF the following error codes can be
displayed:
is displayed when communication
between power source and IWF unit is
lost.
is displayed when controlling the motor is
not running properly.
is displayed when the motor is overloaded.
is displayed if the IWF was not configured
correctly. Move the jumper. For jumper
settings, please refer to page 22.

Software
In case of exchange of the control PCB, software must be
reloaded, using an SD card.
Latest software can be downloaded under Product soft-
ware at www.migatronic.com. Save the software on an SD
card containing the folders and one or more of the files
shown below.
To order SD card, use item no. 78861297.
Software loading
• Insert the SD card into the SD card reader.
The SD card reader is in the Remote

or the SIGMA
2
/
SIGMA GALAXY control boxes in the power sources.
If the IWF unit is used with OMEGA
2
, use the internal
SD card reader in the IWF unit (see drawings below).
• Turn on the machine.
• Turn off the machine and remove the SD card.
• The IWF unit is now ready for use.
Maintenance
Clean the IWF unit with compressed air and check the wire
feed rolls for wear and tear, as needed.
