Energy saving tips
– Ensure that the bottoms of pots or
pans match the size of the burner or
are somewhat larger. This ensures
that heat is not lost unnecessarily.
– Use a lid whenever possible to
minimize heat loss.
– For small quantities, select a small
pan. A small pan on a small burner
uses less energy than a large, only
partially filled pan on a large burner.
– Cook with as little water as possible.
– Once food has come to the boil or
the pan is hot for frying, reduce the
heat to a lower power setting.
– When cooking for a long time, turn
the burner off at least 5 or 10 minutes
before the end of the cooking time.
This makes use of the residual heat.
