Rotary channel selector
By turning the knob clockwise you skip to the next channel. By turning it counterclockwise you will reach
the last channel.

UP/DN-Buttons on the microphone
To skip to the next channel press the UP-button. If you keep pressing this button the “auto-repeat”
function is obtained.

To skip to the last channel, press the DN-button. If you keep this button  the “auto-repeat” function is
obtained.

Note!
If the channel will not change make sure that the “EMG” button has not been pressed. In this case, press
the “EMG” button to deactivate this function. As far as other functions are concerned refer to previous
instructions.

Memory Buttons M1 - M3
These buttons allow the storing and recalling of 3 pre-selected channels. How to store:

select the desired channel and press M1 for at least 3 sec to store the choosen channel in the M1
memory.

Repeat these steps to memorise on M2 till M3 the other preset.

Note
As soon as the ALAN 255 ESP from the current supply is separated becomes the stored channels
automatically deleted. It must take place then a reprogramming.

TO RECEIVE
Turn on the power by rotating VOLUME clockwise. Set Squelch control to maximum counterclockwise
position. Set channel selector to the desired channel. Adjust Squelch to cut out annoying background
noise when no signal is received.

TO TRANSMIT
Press the push to talk button on the microphone and hold it at an angle of about 5-7,5 cm to your mouth
and speak in a normal voice. To receive again release the push to talk button.

Be sure the mic plug is firmly connected to the jack, for if the connector becomes loose, you may end
with squeal, feedback and other problems.

SCAN button
With this control, you can automatically seek for a busy channel.

Turn the Squelch clockwise until the background noise is no longer heard.

Press the ‘’SCAN’’ button: the transceiver will scan automatically all the channels until a carrier is
being received.

When it finds a carrier it stops and starts again some seconds after the ending of the communication
on the channel.

When the radio is transmitting, the scan function is deactivated.
