DISPLAY ORIENTATION
The DISPLAY ORIENTATION setting allows the installer to select the orientation that the
unit will be installed in the panel. It can be installed HORIZONTAL, VERTICAL RIGHT, or
VERTICAL LEFT. In the HORIZONTAL orientation, the unit must be installed with the
control knob at the bottom of the unit. In the VERTICAL RIGHT orientation, the control
knob is located on the right side of the unit. In the VERTICAL LEFT orientation, the
control knob is located on the left side of the unit. See Section 2.3 Equipment Location
when choosing the where and how to orient the unit in the aircraft instrument panel.
This feature is provided for maximum installation flexibility but should be chosen carefully
to fully comply with regulatory requirements which minimizes visual scan and is easily
accessible. NOTE: in the vertical orientation, the location of the knob should be selected
so that the pilot does not obstruct the display when operating the control knob. See
Figure 4.6 and Figure 2.1.
