1.5 Contraindications, Precautions, Cautions and Warnings
This meter has no contraindications and is for in vitro diagnostic use only. Before using please
carefully read and strictly adhere to the following cautions and warnings.
Warnings on Electrical Safety
z
Do not plug the power cord into any power socket other than one of AC 110/220V.
Failure to do so may result in fire or electric shock.
z
Use only the provided power cord to ensure proper grounding. Failure to do so
may result in fire or electric shock.
z
Do not damage the insulation sheath of the power cord. Do not pull on the power
cord or hang heavy objects on the cord. Failure to do so may result in circuit-breaking
or short-circuiting, which may then cause electric shock or fire.
z
Before connecting a peripheral meter, disconnect the power. Failure to do so may
result in electric shock or malfunction.
z
This meter should be kept at least 30cm away from the wall to facilitate the
connection or heat dissipation.
z
Only Micropoint-authorized service personnel are allowed to disassemble the
inside modules and components of the meter.
z
If there is an abnormal smell or smoke, immediately turn off the power and
unplug the power plug from the power socket to prevent fire, personal injury or
death. Contact your Micropoint distributor or agent as soon as possible to perform an
inspection and servicing.
z
Do not spill test samples or reagents on the meter, since chemical liquids and
metallic objects may result in short-circuiting or fire.
Warnings on Biological Risk
z
Used cartridges and other consumables should be disposed of as medical waste or
infectious waste.
z
While performing maintenance and inspections, always wear protective gloves
and use the specified tools. Wash your hands with disinfectant after finishing such
operation. Fail to do so may cause infection in the skin exposed to the blood.
z
Always take care and wear protective gloves while handling samples. Fail to do so
may result in infection. If the sample gets into eyes or wounds, immediately wash it
off with plenty of clean water and see the doctor.
z
Used cartridges should be discarded into a designated medical waste container.
