BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

If necessary, wipe the kettle with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
When using for the first time, consult the list of Dos and Don’ts listed in section 5. When you
have read them, you will need to boil away any impurities that have collected during
transport. To do this, follow the instructions in section 2. When the kettle has boiled, pour the
water away, wash and rinse the inside of the kettle before using again. The kettle is now
ready for use.

WARNING:

DO NOT FILL ABOVE THE ‘FULL’ LINE INSIDE THE KETTLE AS THERE IS

DANGER OF BOILING WATER SPILLING OUT OF THE KETTLE.

USING THE  KETTLE

1.

Remove the lid from the kettle.

2.

Fill the kettle with water ensuring that the element is completely covered and that the water
does not exceed the ‘FULL’ level marked inside the kettle (Figure 1).

3.

Replace the kettle lid and point the arrow (embossed on the lid) towards the on/off switch
to prevent the lid lifting when pouring (Figure 2).

4.

Plug the mains lead into the kettle and then into a suitable mains outlet socket.

5.

Switch on the mains socket and press the kettle ON/OFF switch to switch the kettle on.

6.

When the water boils the kettle will automatically switch off.
If you require warm water only, you can press the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position
before the water boils.

7.

Unplug the kettle from the power supply before pouring the boiling water and whenever the
kettle is not being used.

8.

Allow the kettle to cool before boiling any more water.

CLEANING AND CARE FOR YOUR KETTLE

Rinse the kettle regularly to remove any loose scale. The kettle should be regularly de-scaled
using a proprietary brand descaler purchased from any good hardware store. The period
between cleaning will depend upon water hardness and how often the kettle is used.
Use a damp cloth to clean the kettle exterior. Abrasive cleaning products should not be used
as they can scratch the surface.
Your kettle will last longer if it is emptied every time after it has been used.
The element may discolour after some time, but this will not effect the performance of the
kettle.
