Malfunction, remedial action
The device does not start.
•
Ensure that the power plug is properly connected to the power outlet (plugged in).
•
Ensure that the On/Off switch is in position "1".
•
The device may have switched off due to overheating. Wait for the device to cool off and switch it
on again.
The nebularisation output of the device is insufficient (nebularisation rate too low or none at all).
•
Make sure that the air tube is properly connected at both ends.
•
The air tube must not be damaged, compressed, bent, dirty or blocked or clogged. If necessary,
replace the air tube.
•
Make sure that the nebuliser kit is properly assembled.
•
Make sure that the correct quantity of inhalation solution is filled in.
•
Make sure that all components are well cleaned.
5.
Cleaning and maintenance
Thoroughly clean all accessories after each treatment in order to remove any medication residues and
potential dirt/contamination. The compressor and the air tube must only be cleaned on the outside
using a clean and moist cloth. We recommend to disinfect the nebuliser at least once a day.
•
Always scrub your hands thoroughly before cleaning and disinfecting the accessories.
•
Never expose the compressor unit to water or heat.
•
If several persons use one device, each of these persons must have their own complete kit. Change
it before the treatment of a new person or replace it if it is dirty/contaminated
.
Cleaning:
•
Clean all nebuliser accessories (except for the air tube) for approx. 5 minutes under warm tap water
and add a bit of dishwashing liquid (max. 60 °C).
•
Thoroughly rinse all components. Make sure that all deposits are removed; leave all parts to dry
completely.
•
If some parts are very dirty and soiled a clean brush could be used as well.
Disinfection:
•
Always disinfect the fragmented nebuliser and used components (except the air tube) after regular
cleaning. Important because only clean materials can be disinfected effectively.
•
All nebuliser accessories (except for the air tube) can be cleaned using chemical disinfectants.
Please observe the instructions of the disinfectant manufacturer.
In boiling hot water:
Put the component parts of the nebuliser (except for the air tube, the masks and the compressor unit)
at least 15 minutes in boiling hot water. Use a clean pot and fill it with enough water. Plastic material
could melt while touching the hot ground of the pot.
Sterilisation:
•
All nebuliser accessories (except for the air tube, the masks and the compressor unit) can be
sterilised using hot steam: up to 121 °C (20 min.) or up to 134 °C (7 min.) EN554/ISO1134.
•
If available you are also able to use a thermic, usual in trade disinfection tool for baby bottles.
•
After sterilisation leave all accessories to cool down to ambient temperature. They can be used
again only after having cooled down. Do not repeat the sterilisation process while the accessories
are still warm. You can order all replacement parts and accessories from your local pharmacy.
