Remove the bearing plate
from the shaft. Use the
included spanner to loosen
the retaining nut.
The rubber drum will shrink
in diameter so that the sleeve
may be slipped off. Slide a
new sleeve into place, then
tighten the nut (gently) with
the spanner to expand the
rubber drum and retain the sleeve.
Reverse the above procedure to reassemble the machine.

H

If the drive belt needs
adjustment, use the hex head
screws as jack screws to
adjust the motor plate up and
down until the belt is just tight
enough to avoid slipping. If it is
too tight, the bearings will wear
prematurely.

Keep the bearings lubricated
with machine oil (oil while the
machine is NOT running).

If wood sheets are not sanding
evenly from side-to-side, the
table is not parallel to the
drum. We have incorporated a
special adjustment to correct
this condition. To make the
adjustment, first unplug the
machine. Then move the table
into gentle contact with the
drum. If a tapered gap exists
between the drum and the table, loosen the lock nut surrounding
the pivot point set screw on the pulley side of the machine (the
right side). The set screw has an elliptical pivot pin, and rotating
it will set the table into even contact with the drum. Tighten the
lock nut and run a test piece though the machine to confirm
the adjustment.

On the opposite side of the
machine, remove the 4 screws
holding the bearing plate to the
red machine frame.

F

To change the sanding sleeve,
first unplug the machine from
the electrical outlet. Then
remove the four small screws
and washers used to hold the
black cover onto the red main
frame. Shift the cover to the
side (be careful not to break
the wire connections) so that
the belt drive is exposed.

A

Remove the belt by slipping it
off the pulleys.

B

Remove the outer C-clip from
the pulley shaft.

C

Remove the key and the inner
C-clip.

E

Remove the bearing plate and
drum (you may have to tap on
the opposite end of the shaft
with a wood block to release it).

G

Remove the pulley by sliding it
off the shaft.
