Instructions:
•
First loosen the leg thumbscrew.
•
Separate the legs to the desired spread and tighten the leg thumbscrew.
•
Install the desired mount onto the top of the moveable mast.
•
Install your antenna onto the mount or install your antenna onto the top of the moveable mast with U-bolts.
•
Loosen the mast thumbscrew and raise the mast to the desired height.
•
Place the holding pin through the hole in the mast at the desired height.
•
Screw the mast thumbscrew tight.
Notes:
•
You can get more height out of the Portable Antenna Stand by extending the legs to the maximum spread
and continuing to pull up on the mast section. This can give you up to an extra foot of height depending on
how the legs are spread. Please note that increasing the height like this will reduce the base area and
stability of the stand.
•
For light antennas, you can also get a few extra inches of height by extending the mast to the maximum
length and tightening the mast thumbscrew. The holding pin does not necessarily have to rest on the
compression clamp. However, for heavier antennas, it is suggested that the holding pin rest on top of the
compression clamp for added support.
Warning:
•
The MFJ-1918 is made of heavy-duty Chinese iron and will rust easily.
•
To prevent further rusting, do not leave the Portable Antenna Stand out in the rain, shower, or bathtub. Only
use the Portable Antenna Stand for brief periods of time. Do not leave the Portable Antenna Stand out over
night because the morning dew can cause further rusting. The Portable Antenna Stand is not recommended
for use in costal regions where salty air from the ocean can cause further rusting.
•
If using the Portable Antenna Stand for extended periods of time (longer than 12-hours), it is recommended
that you cover the antenna stand with a waterproof tarpaulin.
•
Do not sit on the Portable Antenna Stand.
•
Do not attempt to mount an antenna on the Portable Antenna Stand weighing over the weight listed in the
specification table above.
•
The Portable Antenna Stand will not withstand hurricane force winds, tornados, or strong gusts of wind.
