6.1 Accessories for sample compartment
6.1.1 Sample cell
The sample cell has a glass bottom and is used to measure sample materi-
als with irregular structures (e.g. granulates, fibers, mill material etc.) or for
bigger flat samples (e.g. films, textiles etc.). The sample material is scan-
ned in the longitudinal direction of the sample cell over several positions in
order to obtain a representative spectrum.
NOTICE
Restriction
The NIRS XDS RapidContent Solids Analyzer instrument does not
have a tray slide drive.
Setting up the sample cell
The sample cell is set up in the instrument as follows:
1 Inserting tray slide

Position the tray slide on the rear centering pins in the instrument
and secure it with the knurled screw.
2 Inserting the sample cell

Latch the loaded sample cell onto the tray slide.
