NTRODUCTION
To open the embedded web page, start the LXI Discovery Tool utility by navigating to Start →
Programs → LXI Discovery Tool . Once the utility is run, LXI Discovery Tool will scan the
network to discover all LAN-based VTI instruments. Once the scan is complete, the tool shows all
the instruments that were discovered, as shown in Figure 7-1. To open the web page, click on the
Open Web Page. The IP address of the EX1200A can also be viewed from this window as well as
its firmware version.

Alternatively, the EX1200A may also be discovered using Internet Explorer’s Bonjour for
Windows plug-in. The IP address of the EX1200A can also be entered into the address bar of any
web browser to view the embedded web page. By default, the EX1200A will first attempt to use
DHCP to set its IP Address. If DHCP is not available on the network it is connected to, it will
instead use Auto IP. Determining the Auto IP address is discussed in the
Network Configuration
discussion in Section 2 . Other discovery methods, such as VXI-11, can be used as well.
