Routine Service and Maintenance
Monthly Maintenance Procedures
Do the following procedures monthly or every 200 operating hours:
1. Do all Daily and Weekly maintenance procedures
2. Replace engine oil and engine oil filter - see engine manual
3. Replace the air filter element (Item 4, Figure 4–14 ).

a. Unhook the two retaining clips and remove the end cap (Item 3, Figure 4–14 ) from the air
cleaner housing (Item 1, Figure 4–14 ).
b. Pull the air cleaner element (Item 4, Figure 4–14 ) out of the housing and inspect.
c. Do not wash the filter element or use pressurized air, this will damage the elements.
Replace dirty, bent or damaged element with a new Perkins element as required.
d. Handle the new element carefully; do not use if the sealing surfaces are bent or damaged.
e. Check all air filter parts for wear, cracks, or damage.
f. Replace any damaged components.
g. Slide the filter into place in the air cleaner housing.
