) STABILITY

ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM

AdvanceTrac

®

 helps

you to maintain stability
and steerability of your
vehicle during a variety
of road conditions. If
your vehicle becomes
stuck in the snow, mud
or sand, try turning
off the AdvanceTrac

®

system (by pushing the
TCS off button) to allow
wheel spin and help
increase momentum
to dig the vehicle out.
The system defaults
to on and the control
will illuminate when
turned off. Refer to
your Owner’s Guide for
safety information and
more details.

10.

 ACTIVE PARK ASSIST

(if equipped)

The Active Park Assist
system can detect an
available parallel parking
space and automatically
steer the vehicle into
that space. The system

visual and/or audible
instructions with regard
to braking, accelerating
and shifting gears in
order to safely park
the vehicle. To initiate
Active Park Assist, press
the AUTO P control
and follow the system
instructions as prompted
by the message center.
To stop the parking
procedure, grab the
steering wheel or press
the control again. For
complete information,
please refer to Active
Park Assist in the
Driving chapter of your
Owner’s Guide.

11.

 PASSENGER

AIRBAG OFF

The passenger airbag
off indicator light will
illuminate when the
passenger’s front airbag
is off. Please refer to
your Owner’s Guide for
safety information and
more details.

12.

 USB PORT

(if equipped)

The USB port allows

this feature. For more
information, please
refer to your SYNC®
supplement or the
SYNC® section in your
Navigation supplement
(if equipped).

13.

 AUXILIARY

INPUT JACK

The auxiliary input
jack provides a way to
connect your portable
music player to the
in-vehicle audio system.
This allows the audio
from a portable music
player to be played
through the vehicle
speakers. For more
information, please see
your Owner’s Guide.

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE
(4WD) SYSTEM
(if equipped)

Your vehicle may be
equipped with an
intelligent 4WD system
that continuously
monitors vehicle
conditions and
automatically adjusts
the power distribution
between the front
and rear wheels. The
4WD system is always
active, requires no
input, and is capable
of handling many
road conditions,
including street and
highway driving as
well as off-road and
winter driving.

Use extreme caution when using
any device or feature that may take
your attention off the road. Ford
recommends against the use of any
hand-held device while driving and
that you comply with all applicable
laws. Your primary responsibility is
the safe operation of the vehicle.

POWER SIDE VIEW
MIRRORS

Rotate
the
control
clockwise
to adjust

the right mirror, and
counterclockwise to
adjust the left mirror.
Then move the control
in the direction you wish
to tilt the mirror. Return
to the center position to
lock the mirror in place.

OVERDRIVE CONTROL/
CANCEL WITH GRADE
ASSIST

Drive with the vehicle
in Overdrive (D) for
the best fuel economy.
You can deactivate
overdrive by pressing
the transmission control
switch on the side of
the shift handle. Your
vehicle is equipped
with a special grade
assist feature which is
automatically activated
when overdrive is turned
off. Grade assist helps
to provide optimal gear
selection and additional
engine braking on
hilly terrain. It is
recommended that
you return to O/D
(Overdrive) once you
return to flat terrain.
To return to overdrive,
simply press the
transmission control
switch again.

UNIVERSAL GARAGE
DOOR OPENER
(if equipped)

Your vehicle may be
equipped with the
Car2U® system located
in the driver’s visor.
The Car2U® home
automation system is
a universal transmitter
that provides a way of
opening your garage
door and also for
remotely activating
some devices within
your home. The system
works by learning the
frequency codes that
operate garage doors
and certain devices
within the home. For
more information,
refer to the Driver
Controls chapter in
your Owner’s Guide.

REVERSE SENSING
(if equipped)

The reverse sensing
system may warn you if
there is an object behind
the vehicle. The system
will sound a warning
tone that increases in
frequency as the object
gets closer and will
sound continuously
when the object is less
than 10 inches away.
The system is active
when the vehicle is in R
(Reverse) and traveling
less than 3 mph (5
km/h). Note: Visibility
aids do not replace the

need to watch where the
vehicle is moving.
Refer to your Owner’s
Guide for safety
information, more
detail and limitations.

AMBIENT LIGHTING

(if equipped)

Your vehicle may
be equipped with
an ambient lighting
feature which, when
activated, illuminates
the footwells, cup
holders and console bin
with a choice of several
colors. Ambient lighting
is operational when
the ignition is on or in
the accessory position.
Press

on the center

console repeatedly to
turn on, cycle through
your color choices,
and turn off.
