Important safety notes

WARNING
Do not leave children unsupervised in the
vehicle. They might release the electric park-
ing brake. This could lead to a serious or fatal
accident.

WARNING
Under no circumstances should the exhaust
system come into contact with flammable
materials such as dry grass or petrol, for
example. Do not park the vehicle on dry grass-
land or harvested grain fields. The hot exhaust
system could otherwise ignite the flammable
material and set the vehicle on fire.

Do not open the driver's door while the
vehicle is in motion. At low speeds in trans-
mission position D or R, park position P is
otherwise engaged automatically. This can
damage the transmission.
If you wish to manoeuvre the vehicle with the
door open, proceed as follows:

Bring the vehicle to a standstill.
X
Use the E-SELECT lever to shift the trans-
mission to position N or press the P button
on the centre console.
X
Open the driver's door.
You can manoeuvre the vehicle with the
driver's door open.
To ensure that the vehicle is secured against
rolling away unintentionally:
R
the electric parking brake must be applied.
R
the transmission must be in position P and
the key must be removed from the ignition
lock.
R
on steep uphill or downhill gradients, turn
the front wheels towards the kerb.
