The selected setting for the acoustic locking
verification signal must comply with the appli-
cable national road traffic rules. In some coun-
tries, including Germany, using the acoustic
locking verification signal is forbidden by traf-
fic laws (in accordance with §16 Para. 1 and
§30 Para. 1 of the German national road traf-
fic regulations). The driver of the vehicle must
ensure compliance with these regulations. In
countries where the use of this function is for-
bidden, this function is not activated in the
vehicle and must not be activated.
Changing the unlocking settings
The key has the following adjustable unlocking
functions:

unlock the driver's door

To switch between settings: press and hold the

approximately six seconds until the indicator
lamp flashes twice.

To unlock the vehicle centrally when the
unlocking function is selected for the driver's
door: press the

button a second time.
Removing and inserting the emergency key

The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is triggered
when you unlock and open the vehicle using
the emergency key (

page 67).

Replacing the key battery

DANGER Risk of fatal injuries due to swal-
lowing batteries
Batteries contain toxic and corrosive substan-
ces. Swallowing batteries may cause severe
internal burns to occur within two hours.
There is a risk of fatal injury.

Keep batteries out of the reach of chil-
dren.

If the battery compartment does not
close securely, do not use the key any
longer and keep it out of the reach of
children.
#
If batteries are swallowed, seek medical
attention immediately.

Batteries contain pollutants. It is illegal
to dispose of them with the household rubbish.

Dispose of batteries in an
environmentally responsible manner.
