Mercedes-Benz recommends that you have the

vehicle towed to a qualified specialist workshop

after an accident.

NOTE Damage caused by trapping the seat

belt

If an unused seat belt is not fully retracted, it

may become trapped in the door or in the seat

mechanism.

Always ensure that an unused seat belt is

fully retracted.

Fastening and adjusting seat belts

If the seat belt is pulled quickly or sharply, the seat

belt retractor locks. The seat belt strap cannot be

pulled out any further.

Always engage seat belt tongue

of the seat

belt into seat belt buckle

of the corre-

sponding seat.

Press and hold the seat belt outlet release and

slide seat belt outlet

into the desired posi-

tion.

Let go of the seat belt outlet release and

ensure that seat belt outlet

locks into posi-

tion.

Only a seat belt which is worn correctly can

provide the intended level of protection.

Observe the notes on fastening the seatbelt

(

page 30).

NOTE Deployment of components of the

restraint system when the front passenger

seat is unoccupied and a seat belt is buck-

led

When the front passenger seat is unoccupied

and the seat belt tongue of the seat belt is

engaged in the seat belt buckle, components

of the restraint system may deploy unnecessa-

rily on the front passenger side, e.g. the seat

belt tensioner.

Only buckle the seat belts as intended.

Observe the notes on stowage areas

page 206).

and on children travelling in the vehicle can be

Seat belt adjustment function

Vehicles with PRE-SAFE

: after a front seat belt

has been fastened, the automatic seat belt adjust-

ment may apply a certain tightening force. Do not

hold onto the seat belt while it is adjusting.
You can activate and deactivate the seat belt

adjustment function using the multimedia system

(

page 32).
