Rapidly depress the accelerator pedal fully.
The drive noise becomes louder and the vehi-
cle vibrates. The seat belts on the driver and
front passenger seats are pre-tensioned.

If the activation conditions are not fulfilled,
RACE START cannot be used. The RACE
START not possible See Owner's Manual
message appears in the driver's display.

2 Boost function display range available

The 1 indication flashes red in the driver's
display and the RACE START Release brake
to start message appears in the driver's dis-
play.
Vehicles with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS pack-
age: If the 1 indications flash red as bars and
the lower display area in the centre of 2 mid-
dle display range flash red, the RACE START is
activated with boost function.

If the brake pedal is not released after a short
while, RACE START is cancelled. The RACE
START cancelled message appears in the
driver's display.

Take your foot off the brake, but keep the
accelerator pedal depressed.
The vehicle pulls away at maximum accelera-
tion. The RACE START active message
appears in the driver's display.
RACE START is deactivated immediately if you
release the accelerator pedal during RACE START
or if any of the activation conditions are no longer
fulfilled. The RACE START cancelled message
appears in the driver's display.

After using it several times in short succes-
sion, RACE START is unavailable until a cer-
tain distance has been driven.
Reversing camera
▌ Function of the reversing camera
The reversing camera monitors the area behind
your vehicle. If you have activated the function

page 378), the image from the reversing cam-
era is automatically displayed in the central dis-
play when reverse gear is engaged.
The reversing camera is only an aid. It is not a
substitute for your attention to the surroundings.
The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and park-
ing remains with you. Make sure that there are no
persons, animals or objects etc., in the manoeu-
vring area while manoeuvring and parking.

The area behind the vehicle is displayed as a
mirror image, as in the inside rearview mirror.
