1 Coolant filler cap
2 Marking for coolant level
Checking Coolant Level
The coolant reservoir with filler
neck is arranged away from the
radiator. To add coolant, the car
must be on level ground.
Warning!
Do not remove pressure cap on
coolant reservoir if engine tempera
ture is above 90° C/194° F. Allow
engine to cool down before re
moving cap. The coolant reservoir
contains hot water and is under
pressure.
Using a rag, turn cap to first notch
to relieve excess pressure. If
opened immediately, hot scalding
fluid and steam will be blown out
under pressure.
If a small amount of coolant has to
be added (due to evaporation of
water), plain water can be used.
If a larger quantity of coolant has to
be added, a 50/50 mixture of water
and anticorrosion/antifreeze should
be used:
The coolant level must reach:
• the mark indicated on the reser
voir when the coolant is cold
• approximately 2 cm/0.8 in
higher when the coolant is hot
The drain plugs are situated on the
R-H and L-H engine side and on
the radiator bottom.
