To adjust the tone characteristic
Base I B and treble
can be adjusted independently.
To set the radio to a “ flat” response (bass and treble at mid-range setting),
briefly press both tone controls
and
simultaneously. The tone setting
indicator shows the selected response:

Upon pressing either tone button, the level for that function (either Q o r ^ J )
will begin increasing. It stops increasing when the button is released or when
the maximum tone level is reached:
= Maximum Treble

After reaching the maximum tone level, the tone control will stay at that level
unless the tone button is released and pressed again, at which point the tone
level will start decreasing. It will stop decreasing when the button is released or
when the minimum tone level is reached.

Minimum Bass
After reaching the minimum tone level, the tone control will stay at that level
unless the tone button is released and pressed again. After pressing the tone
button again the tone level will begin to increase and the cycle is repeated.
Note: It takes approximately 5 seconds to go from minimum tone level to maxi
mum tone level.
To select AM or FM
Press any of t he buttons marked QO
through QJJ] to tune the radio
to the FM band.
Press any of the buttons marked E u l
through [EU to tune the radio
to the AM band.
The selected wave band is shown in
the digital display.
To tune in a station
Stations can be tuned in by using
automatic seek, direct frequency tun
ing, manual tuning, or by preset
pushbuttons. The frequency of the
station selected is indicated on the
digital display.
Automatic station seeker
Switch to the wave band desired by
pressing any of t he fo llowing buttons:
for FM, buttons HJJJ through Q J]
for AM, buttons [JJJJ through QJJJ
By pressing the automatic station
seeker bar
upward the
radio will seek stations in ascending
frequencies, by pressing down it will
do so in descending frequencies. The
direction of automatic seeking can be
reversed by pressing the bargSSBBH
in the respective direction. In order to
arrive at a desired station without
stopping, the bar must be held in the
desired direction.
