The adjustable air outlet in the rear
passenger compartment console pro
vides a variable flow of fresh outside
air or cooled air. The air flow is in
creased by sliding the lever to the left
and decreased by sliding the lever to
the right.
Temperature Selection (°C)
The desired interior temperature
can be selected by rotating the
temperature selector. The
selected temperature is reached as
quickly as possible and maintained. A
basic setting of 22 °C (72 °F) is re
commended.
If desired, the temperature selector
can be rotated to the end positions
“ MIN” and “ MAX” . This overrides the
automatic mode.
“ MIN” (detent) = peak cooling.
“ MAX” (detent) = maximum heating.
If button 1 3 is depressed with the
temperature selector in the “ MIN” or
“ MAX” end positions, the fan will run
at near maximum speed.

Air Recirculation
Press symbol side of switch =
the air recirculation mode is en
gaged. The indicator lamp in the
switch lights up.
This mode can be selected to prevent
annoying odors or dust from entering
the car’s interior.
At high outside temperatures, the sys
tem automatically engages the recir
culated air mode thereby increases
the cooling capacity performance.
The recirculated air mode will be
automatically switched off after ap
proximately 30 minutes of operation
at outside temperatures above ap
proximately 7 °C (45 °F) and after ap
proximately 5 minutes at outside tem
peratures below approximately 7 °C
(45 °F).
At outside temperatures above 20 °C
(68 °F), the system can be continu
ously operated in the recirculatedjair
mode by pressing button jg| or |2|
and rotating the temperature selector
to end position “ MIN” .
If the windows should fog up from the
inside, switch from recirculated air
back to fresh air by pressing the lower
half of the air recirculation switch (the
indicator lamp in the switch goes out).
Note:
It is not possible to switch to recircu
lated air if button
or (jj2 is depres
sed.
