Replacing the active carbon filter
Replace the active carbon filter after 70 brews, or when the symbol
starts flashing in the display.
Follow the instructions below.
Press the button
(29) to activate the filter replacement reminder. The symbol
on the display
starts flashing.
Release the filter holder (15) from the water
reservoir (13), open the cover over the filter
compartment, and remove the active carbon filter.
Take the new active carbon filter (16) out of the
plastic bag and rinse well under running water to
remove any residue.
Put the new filter in the filter compartment and close the cover.
Insert the filter holder (15) in the recess (see arrow).
Press the button
(29) to activate the filter replacement reminder again.
NOTE
The filter replacement reminder is only active if the symbol
is not flashing.
Descaling
Descale the appliance regularly for best functionality and taste. Descale at least once every six weeks,
depending on the hardness of the water.
Fill the water reservoir with water up to the marking for 10 cups and add citric acid or vinegar so
that the solution contains about 5% acid.
Follow the instructions of the manufacturer if you are using a special descaling agent.
Press the button
(26).
Brew with the appliance so that the descaling solution runs through it.
Empty the pot (7).
NOTE
The descaling process may need to be repeated if there is a lot of scale.
Brew two full reservoirs of fresh water through the appliance to rinse.
Wash all detachable parts before the next brewing.
Storage
Empty and clean the appliance if it is not going to be used for some time. Store the appliance and all
accessories in a clean, dry and frost-free place, protected from direct sunlight.
