CLI Safe Mode
Safe Mode provides a minimal set of CLI commands that allows the user to reinstall a valid
image into the gateway in the event that the system software image is corrupt. This set of
commands is used as a last recourse.
The system automatically enters Safe Mode if the software image is corrupt.
In Safe Mode, the system is not functional. The Safe Mode CLI is available via a SSH session
to the gateway from the InfiniBand side to IP address 192.168.2.1 or from the Ethernet side
192.168.1.1.
To enter the Safe Mode CLI:
Step 1
Open an SSH session from the Ethernet or the InfiniBand side to the gateway
Step 2
Type
admin
at the logon prompt.

Step 3
Issue the appropriate CLI commands to complete the required actions. Type
?
to view the list
of
Safe Mode
commands, as shown in the following screen.
(SafeMode) login: admin

default-gateway - set default gateway
show-ip - show ip
route-show - show route table
ping - ping
telnet - telnet
update-software - get new software version by FTP
factory-default - use factory default configuration
import - import configuration by FTP
