Chapter 3 – Commissioning
Following careful installation, the reverse osmosis unit can be commissioned in accordance with the
following points:
1.
Unscrew the filter housing of the ion exchanger (Fig. 1, pos. 13).
2.
Remove the mixed-bed resin cartridge and screw on the empty filter housing to flush the reverse
osmosis unit.
3.
Place and hold the free end of the permeate line in a 5 l container or similar.
4.
Switch on the steam sterilizer at the power switch.
5.
Operate the reverse osmosis unit for c. 20 minutes in order to remove all preservative and dust
residue.
6.
Switch off the steam sterilizer.
7.
Unscrew the filter housing of the ion exchanger.
PLEASE NOTE
The filter housing is full to the brim with water.
8.
Remove the water of the filter housing.
9.
Return the mixed-bed resin cartridge in accordance with
Chapter 4 - Maintenance
,
Replacing
the mixed-bed resin cartridge
and screw-on the filter housing again.
10.
Connect the permeate line to the pressure tank (Fig. 1, pos. 10).
11.
Close the pressure tank shut-off valve.
12.
Place the pressure tank in the floor unit (see Fig. 2).
13.
Switch on the steam sterilizer.
14.
Check whether the reverse osmosis unit and the hose connections are free from leaks.
15.
Open the pressure tank shut-off valve completely.
16.
The first filling of the pressure tank lasts 2-2.5 hours. When the warming

17.
Mount the cover of the osmosis module.
The water treatment unit now works fully-automatically.
Checking the operational readiness
Operating pressure
Perform a daily check of the pressure on the pressure tank manometer before first program start.
