Special instructions
Always be careful when handling fuel. It is highly flammable.
Store the fuel in an approved container.
Check the amount of fuel in the tank before use. Do not fill up to the top. There must be room for
fuel expansion.
Refuel the machine outdoors. Do not refuel indoors as the fuel gives off toxic fumes.
Never unscrew the fuel filler cap, or refuel with the engine running. The engine must cool down
before refuelling.
Fit the fuel filler cap immediately after refuelling. Wipe up any spilled fuel.
Smoking is not permitted during refuelling.
The fuel and machine must not be stored near hot objects or open flames.
Read the Operating Instructions for details on long-term storage of the machine.
Do not store the machine near hot objects.
Allow the machine to cool before storing it away.
Make sure the machine is free from grass, leaves and other debris before storing.
Service, maintenance and adjustment
If you run over a foreign object, you must turn off the engine. Disconnect the ignition cable from the
spark plug. Check that the machine is not damaged. Damage must be repaired at an authorised
service centre before starting the machine again.
Stop the engine before carrying out cleaning, repairs or inspection. Make sure all moving parts
have stopped. Let the engine cool down and disconnect the ignition cable from the spark plug.
Adjustments must not be carried out when the machine is running.
Make sure the machine is in good condition. Make sure all nuts and bolts are tightened.
The machine must not be tilted or turned when servicing.
Always use original parts for repairs and service.
Do not tamper with safety devices. Check regularly that they are working properly.
Do not change the engine settings. Do not run the engine at too high a speed.
Make sure that warning stickers are intact and clean so that they are legible.
Keep the air filter clean to prevent the engine from overheating.
Child safety
Keep children at a safe distance from the work area. Always keep children under supervision when
the machine is running.
Shut down the machine immediately if children enter the work area.
Pay extra attention when reversing the machine.
Children may not use the machine.
Pay extra attention when using the machine at corners, around shrubs, trees or other objects that
obstruct your view.
