OPERATION
BEFORE USE
• The engine may be used at temperatures between -5°C and +40°C, and can be used for earth
tillers, pumps, generators, lawnmowers, etc�
• Check the engine before each use and correct any faults�
• Before starting such a check, the engine must be on a flat surface and the engine switch must be
in the OFF position�
• Check the equipment to be powered by the engine� Read the instructions that came with the
equipment and check whether there are safety measures or procedures that must be
implemented before starting the engine�
• Look for signs of oil or fuel leakage around and below the engine�
• Remove any dirt or deposits, particularly around the muffler and cord starter�
• Look for signs of damage�
• Ensure that all protection guards and covers are in position, and that all nuts, bolts and screws
are tightened�
• Check the oil level in the engine� The engine can be damaged if the oil level is too low�
• Check the air filter� A dirty filter prevents air flow to the carburettor and impairs engine
