OPERATION
Use
This hedge trimmer may only be used for cutting hedges and bushes. Any other use, not stated in these
Operating Instructions, could damage the trimmer or injure the user and is therefore expressly forbidden.
Connection
The hedge trimmer may only be connected to single-phase AC current. Always check that the mains
voltage corresponds with the data specified on the type plate. Connect the plug to a suitable extension
cord. Make a loop on the cord, push it through the opening in the rear handle and hook the loop onto the
cable holder.
Fitting the hand guard
Push the hand guard over the blade and secure it in place using the screws on each side of the casing.
Start
Press the on/off switch on the rear handle and the on/off switch on the front handle with both hands at the
same time.
Stop
Release one of the switches. The blade brake stops the blades immediately within 0.2 seconds. It is
perfectly normal to see sparks in the upper ventilation openings and there is nothing wrong with the
machine.
Cutting hedges
Before starting, use secateurs to cut off any branches that are thicker than 16 mm. Trim the hedge to a
trapezoidal shape. This is the natural shape for growing plants and results in optimal hedge growth.
Start by trimming the sides upwards from the bottom. Cut the upper part to the shape you want
(straight and horizontal, roof-like or rounded).
The safety blade has laterally rounded, staggered teeth to reduce the risk of injury. The additional
shock protection prevents kickback if the blade comes into contact with walls, fences, etc.
If the blades become jammed or blocked, switch the motor off immediately and pull out the plug.
Remove the object jamming the blade. Plug in again.
IMPORTANT!
Metal obstacles such as fences, etc. can damage the cutting blades.
The cord should always be behind you. Start trimming the hedge at the point closest to the mains
supply socket. Before you start, plan the direction in which you will be working.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE!
Always disconnect the power cord from the mains power before carrying out maintenance work.
Always inspect the machine before starting work.
Damaged blades must be repaired or replaced by qualified service personnel before the trimmer is
used again.
