Fitting a screwdriver bit
If you want to use the machine for screw driving, fit the required screwdriver bit in the drill chuck following
the same procedure as for a drill bit.
Electrical connection
Check that the mains supply corresponds with the machine’s rated data before connecting the machine.
OPERATION
Some tips
Clamp small workpieces on the workbench, for example, using clamps or in a vice.
Mark drill holes in metal with a centre punch to prevent the drill from slipping.
When drilling in wood, add a piece of scrap wood under the work piece to avoid splinters when
exiting as the drill passes through the workpiece on the other side.
Drill metal at a low speed.
Use the correct drill for the job. There are different types of drill bits for drilling different materials,
such as masonry, concrete, metal and wood.
Only use a screwdriver bit that exactly fits the screw in question.
Do not drive the screws too far - they can shear or will be too tight. Set a low speed using the
speed control on the power switch. Press the power button lightly to start screw driving. The
electronics in the machine ensures it starts slowly.
Hold the screwdriver bit firmly and evenly in the screw slot (or star).
Setting the direction of rotation
Note:
The direction of rotation may only be changed when the machine is switched off (not rotating).
For drilling and driving screws, set the selector to "R".
To loosen the screws and jammed drill bits, set the selector to "L".
Everyday drilling/percussion drilling
Percussion drilling is only suitable for drilling in masonry and concrete. All other materials such as
wood, plastic and tiles are damaged by this.
For standard drilling, move the selector to the left.
For percussion drilling, move the selector to the right.
Starting, switching off, continuous operation
Press and hold the power switch to start the machine.
Release the power switch to switch off the machine.
For continuous operation, hold down the power switch and then push the catch. Then release the
power switch. Press and release the power switch to switch off the machine in this mode. This
releases the catch.
Speed adjustment
The machine speed can be adjusted variably using the speed control. To increase the speed, turn
the control towards plus (+). To decrease the speed, turn the control towards minus (-).
The speed can be changed while the machine is working.
CLEANING
Note:
Unplug the machine from the mains supply before cleaning.
Remove dust and dirt with a cloth slightly dampened with a solution of water and a detergent. Make
sue that no water enters the machine.
Regularly clean any drill chips and dust from the chuck and ventilation openings.
The machine has permanent lubrication and does not require any lubrication oil.
