Universal Serial Bus (USB) Ports
USB ports provide an easy way to connect many peripheral devices to your notebook. You
can use any USB device with any USB port.
On the USB it is possible to connect up to 127 devices which correspond to the USB
standard (1.1 and 2.0 supported).
The USB 3.0 connection sockets are completely compatible to USB 2.0 and 1.1.
Your notebook has
2 USB 3.0 connection sockets
(14
and
15)
and
2 USB 2.0
connection sockets
(
18
).
PLEASE NOTE!
Some USB devices require that you reinstall software drivers when
you connect the device to a different USB port than the one
originally used. This can be avoided by always using a certain
device with the same USB port.
Charging function for compatible mobile phones
You can use the USB 3.0 port on the
left side
of the notebook (
14
) to charge a compatible
mobile phone (5 volt max. 1.5 A).
The charging function is available to you in the power saving mode as well as when the
notebook is switched off.
CAUTION!
To spare the notebook battery, we recommend using the charging
function only with mains power supply.
Disconnect external data media from this port whenever you are
not working with the notebook.
The charging function is not available when the battery capacity
is less than 10%. This value can be set in the BIOS under
"Advanced > USB Charger". 10% (default) is the lowest value.
