Fastening the belt eyes

The belt eyes have been adequately
fastened and are, to some extent,
deliberately mobile. Please do not
tighten the screws; they are tight
enough. If you apply too much force,
you can break off the screws.

Fitting instructions

•

Open all the straps. Sit on the edge of a
chair, pull the brace up the affected leg
and flex your knee to 45°. Position the
joints so that the centres of the hinges
(extension wedges) are on a level with
the top edge of the kneecap. Make sure
that the brace is not twisted on your
leg.

•

First fasten the lower front calf strap
(strap #1), then the upper back thigh
strap (#2). Keep your knee in a flexed
position and push both joints towards
the back of the leg.

•

Now fasten the lower back thigh strap
(#3). Make sure that you do not have
the hinge joints positioned in front of
the midline of the leg.

•

Now fasten the upper front calf strap
(#4). Then the upper back calf strap
(#5), and finally the front thigh strap
(#6).

•

Bend your knee slightly a few times
and refasten the straps again in the
order described above to prevent the
brace slipping.

Care instructions

The inner pads and the condyle pads can
be washed by hand with a mild soap/
detergent. Leave to dry naturally.
When used normally the brace is
maintenance-free. However, after using
the brace in water, the hinges can be
lubricated using Teflon™ spray. Check
regularly that the joint screws are
secure, tighten them if necessary.

Storage instructions

Keep the brace in a cool, dry place and
do not expose to direct sunlight.

What can I do if the brace slips?

•

Check that the brace is fitted properly.
The centre of the brace joints should
be level with the upper border of the
kneecap.

•

Make sure that the back thigh strap
(#5) is above the belly of the calf
muscle

•

Take the covers off the knee pads and
wear the pads directly on your skin.
Watch for skin reactions; skin irritation
may occur in people with very
sensitive skin.

•

Do not wear the brace over clothes.

Material composition

The frame is made of Avional, the belt of
velours and the eyes of the belt of
polyester. The pad is made of PU foam.
