Securing to vehicle floor with 4 point straps
For wheelchairs heavier than 85 kg, it is recommended to use an
ISO 10542-1 compliant WTORS (Heavy Duty System), which is
rated for the total weight of the wheelchair including any additional
equipment. If using a Heavy Duty system, use 4 straps to secure
the wheelchair, 2 straps at the front and 2 straps at the back.
The MC 1144 is tested with the Dahl Engineering 4-point heavy
duty system, which is approved for the chair’s total weight includ -
ing all accessories.
Never use equipment that is not marked with ISO 10542
The belts must always be attached to approved fittings in the
vehicle and the four eyes welded to the MC 1144.
The belts MUST be attached within the angles shown in the pic -
ture for optimum safety.
MC 1144 meets the requirements in relation to DS/ISO 7176-19-
2022 for a user weight of up to 136 kg.
When load straps are fitted, the angles should fall within the pre -
ferred angles shown below.
