The packaging of the device cannot undergo
strong impacts as contains electronic
components, therefore the transport and the
storage must be carried out with particular
care.
Do not stack multiple boxes in order to avoid
compressing the underlying packaging.
All the material shipped by MECTRON have
been inspected upon their delivery.
The device is shipped duly protected and
packed.
upon receipt of the device, check for any
possible damage caused during transport and
in case any damage and/or defects is found,
complain to the transporter.
Keep the packaging in case any items need to
be sent to Piezosurgery Inc. Customer Service
and to store the device during long periods
of inactivity.
WARNING : Before starting the treatment,
always make sure to have a stock of material
(handpiece, inserts, wrenches) to use in the
event of failures or drawbacks.
4 INSTALLATION
4.1 First Installation
The device must be installed in a suitable
place that is convenient for its use.
NOTE: The place where the device is installed
must meet the requirements reported in
Chapter 4.2 on page 11 .
Place the console on a sturdy, flat ,dry and
horizontal surface.
CAUTION : Always position the device
in way so that the power switch is easily
reachable, since this switch is considered as a
load-break switch.
4.2 Safety Requirements During Installation
WARNING : Contraindications.
Interference with other equipment.
Even if compliant with standard IEC 60601-
1-2, multipiezo may interfere with other
devices in the vicinity. The user should take
whatever steps are necessary to eliminate
or reduce the source of interference. Install
the Multipiezo at safety distance from life-
support systems. multipiezo must not be
used adjacent or stacked with other electrical
equipments. If adjacent or stacked use of
the device is necessary, normal operation
of the equipment and multipiezo, in the
configuration in which they will be used,
should be verified prior their use.
WARNING : Contraindications.
Interference from other equipment.
An electrosurgical scalpel or other
electrosurgical units positioned near the
multipiezo device may interfere with its
correct operation.
WARNING : The electrical supply network
to which the device is connected must
comply with all the applicable standards and
with electrical safety requirements.
WARNING : To avoid any risk of electric
shock this device must be grounded. Only
connect the console to hospital grade
receptacle to ensure electrical grounding
reliability.
