(6). Route replacement tubes along canopy
structure and locate aft end of tubes at
static pressure ports.
(7). Secure static tubes to canopy structure;
then connect tube to tee on altimeter.
(8). Using adhesive (CM430), bond fraying
surfaces of tubes to static pressure
ports on forward canopy side structure.
Outer end of tube must be flush with
surface.
(9). Connect crossover tube to altimeter and
airspeed indicator.
(10). Check that system tubing and fittings
are secure and airtight.
(11). Reinstall instrument panel fairings.
7. Pitot Static System Inspection
(Ref. Figure 201 for 369D helicopters,
Figure 202 for 369E/FF helicopters,
Figure 203 for 500/600N helicopters)
(1). Inspect system lines for damage that
could prevent an airtight connection.
(2). Inspect pitot tube opening, drain hole
and line for foreign matter. Clear and
clean pressure line, as necessary.
(3). Inspect static pressure tube port(s) for
foreign matter. Clear and clean port(s)
and pressure lines, as necessary.
(4). Inspect pitot tube for lateral misalign
ment. Pitot tube should be parallel to
longitudinal center line of helicopter.
8. Pitot Leak Check
(1). Fit a piece of vinylite or similar flexible
tubing tightly over end of pitot tube.
(2). With a person observing airspeed
indicator, fold free end of tubing over
and roll tubing slowly to create pres
sure.
(3). When observer signals that a reading of
between 50 and 100 knots has been
reached, stop rolling and hold rolled
end tightly and steadily for 1 minute at
constant pressure.
(4). While tapping lightly on bezel of
indicator to overcome any friction which
might affect pointer, watch for a drop in
reading. If reading drops more than 5
knots per minute, system has leakage.
