NOTE: Before fitting wheels, make sure that ALL wheel weight masses used for balancing the
front wheels are placed around the outside of the wheel. There is a risk of damage to the brake
duct and caliper if this is not observed. For an example of correct wheel weight mass placement,
see Figure 97 below.

Hub Nut
Should the hub nut ever require replacing, the following information should be noted.
1.
The hub nut is to be treated as a single use item and therefore should be replaced any time it is
removed.
2.
The recommended adhesive MUST be applied to each hub nut before installation. For further
information, please refer to: Hub Nut Adhesive.
3.
The hub nuts on both the front and rear hubs MUST be torqued to the recommended
specification. For further information, please refer to: Front and Rear Hub Nut specification.
4.
Once fully tightened, the hub nut MUST then be peened over to prevent it moving.
NOTE: As access to the nut can be difficult to complete peening, McLaren Customer Racing
have developed a specific peening tool for the 570S GT4. This can be purchased from the
McLaren Customer Racing

The front hub nut tightens onto the short-splined spigot and the rear hub nut attaches to the
threaded end of the driveshaft.
