ENGINE
Maintenance, repair, or replacement of the emission
control devices and sys tems, which are being done at
the cus tom ers ex pense, may be performed by any non-
road engine repair es tab lish ment or in di vid u al. Warranty
repairs must be per formed by an authorized engine
man u fac tur er's service outlet.
TO ADJUST THROTTLE CONTROL CABLE
(See Fig. 27)
1. The throttle control has been preset at the factory and
ad just ment should not be necessary. If adjustment is
nec es sary, proceed as follows:
2. With engine not running, move remote throttle control
lever to “FAST” position.
3. If throttle lever on engine touches high speed stop, no
further adjustment is nec es sary. If throttle lever does
not touch high speed stop, continue with ad just ment
procedure.
4. Loosen cable clamp screw.
5. Move throttle lever up until it touches high speed
stop, and hold in this po si tion.
6. Tighten cable clamp screw securely.
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
The carburetor has been preset at the fac to ry and ad-
just ment should not be nec es sary. However, engine
per for mance can be affected by dif fer enc es in fuel, tem-
per a ture, al ti tude or load. If the carburetor does need
ad just ment, contact your near est authorized service
center/de part ment
IMPORTANT:
Never tamper with the en gine governor,
which is factory set for prop er engine speed. Over speed-
ing the engine above the factory high speed set ting can
be dangerous. If you think the en gine-governed high
speed needs ad just ing, contact your nearest au tho rized
service center/department, which has the proper equip-
ment and ex pe ri ence to make any nec es sary ad just -
ments.
