Safety notes
•
Wait for traffic to clear before entering a public road.
•
Beware of blind intersections. Slow down until you
have a clear view.
•
DO NOT attempt to pass at any intersection.
•
Slow down for turns and curves.
•
Make wide, gentle turns.
•
Signal your intent to slow, stop or turn.
•
Shift to a lower gear before going up or downhill.

•
Keep tractor in gear. Never coast with the clutch
disengaged or transmission in neutral (Fig.2-40).
•
Check for correct coupling between power steering
on the tractor and corresponding system on the
tractor.
•
STAY OUT of the path of oncoming traffic.
•
Drive in your correct lane keeping as near to the
curb as possible.
•
If traffic builds up behind you, pull off the road and
let it go by.
•
Drive defensively. Anticipate what other drivers
might do.
•
When towing a heavy load, start braking sooner than
normal and slow down gradually.
•
Watch out for overhead obstructions (bridges, trees
etc.).
SAFETY - AFTER USE
Always stop the tractor safely (DO NO park the tractor on
a slope). Engage the parking brake, engage the Park-Lock
(if equipped), disengage the PTO, engage the lowest gear,
lower any implement to the ground, stop the engine and
remove the ignition key BEFORE leaving the driver’s seat
(Fig.2-41).
