The Device and its Functions:
1.
The analog display shows if a metal is a base (ferrous) or a precious (non-ferrous) one. Additionally it shows
if the batteries still have enough energy (BATT) while running a battery-test.
2.
VOLUME: Volume control for the acoustic indicator.
3.
Press this red button to initialize the device which means the needle of the display returns to the 0-position.
4.
DISCRIMINATION: For the fine tuning of the measurement turn this rotary knob into the direction of MAX.
This will blank out the effect of other metal items close by. With some practice so it is possible to tell
something about the size of the found object.
5.
TUNE: Before any measurement must be a tuning of the transmitting and the receiving coil. To perform the
tuning set DISCRIMINATION and VOLUME to their centre positions. Hold the detection coil 30 cm above the
ground and press the red button [3]. Hold the red button [3] and adjust the display needle to 0 by using
TUNE.
6.
OFF/OPERATE/BATT TEST: On- & Off-Switch / Adjustment while detecting / Battery tester to check the
state of the batteries. If the needle of the display remains in the green area (BATT) the batteries are ok and
you can start using the device. Otherwise exchange them.
7.
Earphone Connector: Plug connector for a 3.5 mm stereo-jack.
