Installation
The product may be installed only when it is disconnected from the power supply.
Never fasten the pen light rope to movable objects (e. g. doors or similar).
Never hang objects from the product or fasten anything to it.
Never install the product in the vicinity of combustible materials (e.g. curtains, decora-
tive material, etc.).
Make sure that no object (e. g, a curtain) can come in contact with the light rope or come
into its vicinity through a draught of air. Otherwise there could be a fire risk.
The product should be placed out of the reach of children. Children could knock over
the lamp and be injured or cause a fire.
The light rope must be ventilated sufficiently (never cover the device!).
When installing the product, make sure that neither the mains cable or the product is
pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
Do not leave the power cable or the light rope lying or hanging around; instead, install
them in an expert manner to prevent accidents.
After installation, the power cable and the plug must be free from tensile and rotary
forces.
Never use wires or similarly sharp/pointed auxiliary materials. Only use cable strips or
special clips, which are available as accessories (order no.: 59 00 63). Never perforate
the light rope with nails or similar items.
If you wish to bend the pen light rope, observe the minimum bend radius of 5cm and
never bend the pen light rope when it is cold (minimum temperature is 20°C). If you turn
on the light rope for 10-15 minutes before bending, it warms up so that bending or lay-
ing is easier. Caution: disconnect the power supply before placing the light rope!
• As a test, place the light rope in the desired manner.
• Note, the mains socket should be within reach of the power cable.
• Fasten the pen light rope with suitable mounting material.
Operation/handling
The pen light rope must never be connected electrically to other light ropes or light
strings.
Never use the product without supervision.
Never use the product in the packaging or when it is rolled. This creates hazards of
overheating and fire.
Never touch the light rope during operation or immediately after operation, as it
becomes hot. There is a risk of burns!
If you do not use the product, unplug the power plug to switch the device off. If the
mains outlet is difficult to access, you must provide an alternative option to separate it
from the mains power (e.g. switch).
• Plug the mains plug into a mains socket.
• The pen light rope is lit for as long as the power plug is connected to the mains socket.
• Disconnect the light rope from the mains after use by pulling out the plug.
Maintenance and care
Always pull the power plug out of the mains socket before cleaning the light rope.
The pen light rope is maintenance-free.
