Intended use

The monitor loudspeakers are used to convert the electric output signals from audio amplifiers into audible
sound waves and are only licensed for connection to the loudspeaker outputs of such devices.
The product may only be used indoors; never outdoors. Do not expose to moisture, for example in bathrooms
or similar spaces.
Any other use than the one described above may lead to damage to the loudspeakers and involves other risks,
such as short-circuits, fire, etc.
No part of the product must be modified or rebuilt.

Always observe the safety instructions.

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by improper
use or failure to observe the safety instructions. The warranty will be null and void in such
cases.

The exclamation mark symbol indicates important information in these operating
instructions. Prior to starting up the product read the entire operating instructions, they
contain important information on the correct operation.

• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed because of safety reasons.
• Make sure that the loudspeakers are put into operation correctly. Therefore, please follow the operating

instructions carefully.

• This product is not a toy, it is not suitable for children. Children are not aware of the potential dangers when

using electrical devices.

• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected to this device.
• Never pour liquids over electrical devices and never place objects filled with liquid on top of them.
• Do not place naked flames such as burning candles on top of the device.
• Do not store any magnetic storage media such as floppy disks, video tapes etc. in the proximity of the loud-

speakers, as the magnetic field from the loudspeakers may corrupt the information stored on the storage
media.

• Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing.
• Do not expose the loudspeakers to high temperatures, strong vibrations, dripping or splashing water.
• Only use the monitor loudspeakers in a moderate climate, and avoid a tropical environment.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Please observe the additional safety instructions in the individual chapters of this manual.
• In commercial institutions, numerous laws and regulations, like e.g. the accident prevention regulations of the

Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
You must, as user, inform yourself by the responsible authorities and must comply with the current provisions
and regulations.

• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are not answered

in this operating manual, please contact our technical advisory service or another specialist.

• Mounting bracket for wall mounting provided

Installation/Setup

Do not place the loudspeakers in the direct vicinity of TV sets or computer monitors.
There is the risk that the magnetic fields generated by the loudspeakers could distort the
picture.
When setting up the loudspeakers, make sure that they are on a stable footing and that
you find a correspondingly stable set-up surface.
In case of wall mounting, make sure that the fastening is secure and that the fastening
elements can support the weight of the loudspeakers.
Loudspeakers falling from the wall may cause serious personal injury.

The monitor loudspeakers can be stood up, laid down or fastened to the ceiling using the provided mounting
brackets.
To achieve the best possible sound, attempt to implement the following suggestions for the positioning in your
listening room, within the framework of your possibilities:

• Place the loudspeakers in locations that are as equidistant as possible to the location from where you will

be listening (equilateral triangle).

• In rectangular rooms, the loudspeakers should be set up along the  short wall, if possible.
• The tweeters should be approximately at the height of your ears.

Experiment with your setup possibilities and also with the alignment of your loudspeakers a little
to determine the best location in your listening room.

If you want to secure the loudspeakers on the wall using mounting brackets, proceed as follows:

Use a mounting bracket as template and draw the
mounting holes at the location of the mounting site.

If necessary, use dowels to screw tight the mounting
bracket on the wall.

Fasten the loudspeakers, using the enclosed screws,
to the mounting bracket.

Connection

When connecting the loudspeakers, make sure that the connecting cables are not
pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
The connection may only be made to suitable loudspeaker outputs on audio devices.
Make sure the impedance and power rating indicated in the technical data complies with
the data for the amplifier connected. Otherwise the speakers or the amplifier may be
damaged.
The amplifier to which the loudspeakers are to be connected must be switched off when
you make the connections.
Lay the connection cables so they do not present a tripping hazard.

Connect the loudspeaker terminals on the rear of the boxes to the corresponding loudspeaker outputs on the
amplifier.
• red connection or (+)

• black connection or (-)

Pay attention to the loading capacity of the amplifier. The total impedance for the connected loudspeakers
must not fall short of the minimum impedance for the amplifier.

Disposal

Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.

Make sure that no cables or the like are damaged
beneath the mounting area by drilling.

The dowels and screws have to be suitable for the
mounting surface and be able to bear the weight of
the loudspeakers.

Align the loudspeakers in a way so that they are
tilted towards the listening location.
