Navigation – Front Cabin
Important notes
COMAND calculates the route using data
stored on the navigation DVD.
Only Maybach navigation DVDs should
be used; other DVDs or using CDs will not
work. Using other navigation DVDs or
CDs could cause malfunctions or soft-
ware damage.
Calculation errors may occur due to
changes in local traffic patterns (e.g.
road works) and/or incomplete data.
Thus the recommended route may devi-
ate from the ideal route. The data stored
on the DVD only reflects local conditions
at the time of DVD production. DVD
maps do not cover all areas nor all routes
within an area.
The DVD is loaded into (and ejected
from) the navigation module.
The navigation module is located on the
left-hand side of the trunk.

The navigation computer pulls the
DVD in.

puter ejects the DVD.
The navigation DVD covers the continen-
tal U.S., Hawaii and Canada.

Loading/ejecting the DVD

The DVD drive is designed to play
DVDs of IEC 60908 standard. There-
fore only DVDs not exceeding a thick-
ness of 1.3 mm can be used.
Thicker DVDs, e.g. DVDs with data
stored on both sides (one side DVD,
the other side Audio data), cannot be
ejected; the drive could be damaged.
Travelling abroad
