DRAINING/CHANGING OIL
Change the oil according to the Recommended Maintenance Schedule.
Change the oil MORE OFTEN if operating under heavy load or high ambient temperatures. It
is also necessary to drain the oil from the crankcase if it has become contaminated with
water or dirt. Changing the oil when the engine is warm allows for complete drainage.
To change engine oil:
1.
With the help of another person, place the generator
On an elevated platform such as a table or workbench.
NOTE: To avoid possible oil spills from the carburetor bowl,
Drain the carburetor before draining oil.
2.
Place a suitable container underneath the generator
to catch the used oil.
3.
Reach under the generator and remove the black
rubber seal located below the oil drain plug.
4.
Remove the oil cap/dipstick.
5.
Use a wrench to remove the oil drain plug and allow
the oil to drain completely
6.
Reinstall the oil drain plug after the oil has drained.
