Following points clarify Auto Answer:
• Calls are answered in incoming order.
• Trunk calls take priority over extension calls.
• A pending extension call is answered only if there are no trunk calls
pending.
• Before a call is answered, intrusion tone is given to the operator.
• Time for this intrusion tone is programmable.
• Once this timer expires and the intrusion tone stops, the call is
answered and the operator is connected with the new call.
Mixed operation of Auto and Manual answering is allowed. Even when
Auto Answer is selected, it is possible to answer calls manually by
pressing the ‘ans’ or the DSS keys.
For programming details, please refer ‘Operator Console’ in Team/
Focus/Empire System Manual.
Key Click:
Any key of the DSS70 is pressed, it produces a sharp beep. This is
known as key click. Key click assures the operator about sure
depression of the key. The key click is very useful if the operator
surrounding is noisy.
The key click timer is programmable. Duration of the click can be
increased or decreased. You may set this duration to 00 seconds for
silent operation. The timer is in milliseconds. Valid range = 00 to 50
milliseconds. If the timer value = 00, key click is off.
By default, value of the timer is 10.
For programming details, please refer ‘Operator Console’ in Team/
Focus/Empire System Manual.
Pending Call Count Display:
Counts of trunk and internal pending calls are displayed by two digits
on the right corner of the LCD. The left digit among these two digits
indicates the number of pending trunk calls and the right digit
indicates the number of pending extension calls. The operator while
answering and transferring calls knows how many trunk and internal
calls are pending unattended. This helps her to adjust her speed and
priority in the job.
