In Figure 6, /mnt/internal_usdhc is used for the mount point. The “df -h” command shows that this
gplugD internal microSDHC card has approximately 7.2 GB of free space (
).
External USB mass storage devices (hard drives, flash drives, and memory card readers) are
mounted in a similar fashion, but they use the Linux SCSI driver and use the /dev/sdX naming
convention (/dev/sda, /dev/sdb, etc). When using the console serial port, information about USB hot
plug events is shown (these same messages can be read with “dmesg | tail -20” when logged into the
gplugD via SSH). In
, /dev/sda is created for the USB flash drive, and its single partition is
mounted with “mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb.”
