Diagnostic Information and Procedures
Oil Pressure Check

NOTE
Prior to checking oil pressure, check the
following.
• Oil level in oil pan
If oil level is too low, add oil up to full level
mark (hole) on oil level gauge.
)
• Oil quality
If oil is discolored or deteriorated, change
it.
)
• Oil leaks
If leak is found, repair it.
1) Place gear shift lever in “Neutral” and apply parking
brake.
2) Remove front bumper.
3) Disconnect oil pressure switch lead wire (1).
4) Remove oil pressure switch (2) from cylinder block.
5) Install special tools to threaded hole where oil
pressure switch was removed.
Special tool
(A): 09915M77311
(B): 09915M78211
6) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
7) Raise engine speed to 4,000 rpm and measure oil
pressure.
Oil pressure specification
300 – 500 kPa (3.1 – 5.1 kgf/cm
2
, 43.5 – 72.5 psi)
at 4,000 rpm.
8) After checking oil pressure, stop engine and remove
special tools.
9) Apply thread lock cement to thread portion of oil
pressure switch (1), and then tighten switch to
specified torque.
CAUTION
!
Do not apply cement to oil pressure switch
hole.
“A”: Thread lock cement 99000–32110 (Thread
Lock Cement Super 1322)
Tightening torque
Oil pressure switch (a): 13 N·m (1.3 kgf-m, 9.5
lbf-ft)
10) Connect oil pressure switch lead wire (1).
11) Start engine and check oil pressure switch for oil
leakage. If oil leakage is found, repair it.
12) Check DTC. If any DTC is displayed, clear it.
