INSTALLATION AND USAGE INSTRUCTIONS



GETTING STARTED

1.  Mount  the  Transmitter  on  your  detector’s  shaft  using  the  O-ring  strap,  as  shown  in

picture 1.

2. Connect the Transmitter to your detector’s control box with the mini USB / 6.35 mm audio

jack cable (Pic.2).

3.  Plug  your  headphones  (not  supplied)  into  a  6.35  mm  headphone  jack  on  the  Receiver

(Pic.3). If your headphones have a 3.5 mm jack, use an adapter (not supplied).

4. Turn on your detector, the Transmitter and the Receiver (sequence doesn't matter).
5. The MDLink wireless audio system allows you to choose one of 4 channel options. Quick

press the channel button to step through the channel selection. The Transmitter and the
Receiver  must  be  on  the  same  channel  to  work  together.  Once  the  modules  are
successfully paired, you will hear a beep sound and the LED light will flash constantly.

6. If two MDLink systems are located close to each other, they need to operate on different

channels to eliminate mutual interference.

7. If the Transmitter is disconnected from the Receiver (due to channel change or connection

loss), you will hear a disconnect signal while the current channel LED indicator will blink in
a repeating pattern.

8. Use the "+" / "-" buttons on the Receiver to adjust the volume to your preferred level. In

some cases it may be necessary to adjust the volume on your detector’s control box as
well.

9. There are 10 levels of volume control. Once the maximum or minimum volume is reached,

you will hear a low pitch sound indicating the upper or lower volume limit.

10.  The  current  channel  and  volume  level  remain  in  the  device’s  memory  after  the  power

button is turned off.

11. The Transmitter connected to the metal detector can transmit signal to several receivers at

the  same  time.  In  order  for  the  MDLink  to  work  correctly,  all  the  receivers  and  the
Transmitter must be set to the same channel.



TRANSMITTER & RECEIVER CHARGING / LOW BATTERY WARNING

12. Each module of the MDLink wireless audio system contains a rechargeable Li-Ion battery

and a built-in charge controller.

13. To charge the battery, you need to plug one end of the USB/mini USB cable (supplied) into

the  Transmitter  or  Receiver  and  the  other  end  into  a  USB  charger  (not  supplied)  or  a
power bank (not supplied).

14.  When  charging  the  Transmitter  or  Receiver  battery,  the  LED  light  will  flash  blue.  Once

charging is complete, the LED will turn off by itself.

15.  When  the  Transmitter  or  Receiver  is  turned  on,  the  channel  LEDs  will  flash  briefly.

Depending  on  the  number  of  LED  lights,  you  can  get  a  rough  estimate  of  the  battery
charge level (each LED represents 25%):

• One Light = 25%
• Two Lights = 50%
• Three Lights = 75%
• Four Lights = 100%

16. When battery level drops to roughly 5%, the battery LED will start blinking red and you

will hear a warning beep in your headphones.

17.  When  battery  level  approaches  roughly  2%,  the  LED  indicator  will  be  flashing  red

constantly and the beep will sound every 30 seconds until the battery is fully discharged.
