5.3. Combustion Control Board: operating logic
The combustion control board logic is step or state: there are 10 states as reported in the
table and each of these correspond to checks/inspections and commands to the blower
and gas valve.
STEP Blower Blower speed Gas valve Description
0 OFF 0 OFF STANDBY: ignition not required
1 OFF 0 OFF
CHECK: ignition required, check that no flame is
detected and that the blower speed is < 500 rpm. As
soon as the conditions are verified, the board goes to
step 2, otherwise the alarm E12:F11 or E12:F24
appears after 20”.
2 ON ignition speed OFF
START: the blower is switched, check that it is at the
ignition speed. As soon as the condition is verified, the
board goes to step 3, otherwise the alarm E12:F24
appears after 30”.
3 ON ignition speed OFF
PRE-WASHING: the blower is kept at ignition speed
throughout the pre-washing time (7 sec), then it goes
to step 4.
4 ON ignition speed ON
IGNITION: the gas valve and igniter are fed until the
flame is detected or the safety time elapses ( 5 sec ).
5 ON target speed ON
OPERATIONAL: ignition successful.
The power is modulated by the panel board.
6 OFF 0 OFF STOP: burner switch-off.
7 OFF 0 OFF BLOCKING
8 OFF 0 OFF
BLOCK: the ignition is inhibited until the RESET is
carried out.
9 OFF 0 OFF
RESET: the RESET is activated and goes to the
STANDBY phase.
