Replacing the suction head
The felt
fi
lter (

) of the suction head can become clogged.
It is recommended to replace the suction head once every
three months in order to ensure unimpeded fuel
fl
ow to the
carburetor.
To remove the suction head for replacement, pull it out through
the tank
fi
ller neck using a piece of wire bent at one end to
form a hook.

Cleaning the air
fi
lter
Unscrew screw (
14
) and remove the
fi
lter cover (

).
IMPORTANT:
Cover the intake opening with a clean cloth in
order to prevent dirt particles from falling into the carburetor.
Remove the air
fi
lter.
CAUTION:
To prevent injury to the eyes, do NOT blow out
dirt particles!
Do not use fuel to clean the air
fi
lter
.
Clean the air
fi
lter with a soft brush.
If the
fi
lter is very dirty, clean it in lukewarm water with dish-
washing detergent.
Let the air
fi
lter
dry completely
.
If the
fi
lter is very dirty, clean it frequently (several times a day),
because only a clean air
fi
lter provides full engine power.
CAUTION:
Replace damaged air
fi
lters immediately.
Pieces of cloth or large dirt particles can destroy the
engine!

Replacing the saw chain
CAUTION: Use only chains and guide bars designed for
this saw
(see the Extract from the spare-parts list)
!
Check the sprocket (

) before mounting a new chain.
Remove the sprocket guard (see ”PUTTING INTO OPERATI-
ON” A-H)
CAUTION:
Worn out sprockets (

) may damage the new chain
and must therefore be replaced.
Replacing the clutch drum and sprocket
Release the chain brake if necessary.
Lever off the circlip (

) using the universal wrench and remove
the washer (

).
Pull off the clutch drum together with the sprocket (

) and
fi
t a
new clutch drum and sprocket in reverse order.
