8. Transport, storage
NOTICE
Risk of damage to unit if incorrectly
transported.
Do not place load on sensitive
components, such as heating elements.
Storage
●
Ambient temperature -10 to +60 °C.
●
Before installing, check for proper
functioning.
●
Maico accepts no liability for corrosion
damage caused by improper storage,
e.g. storage in a damp room.
9. Mounting instructions
Observe permissible operating
conditions in Chapter 3.
NOTICE
Install the electric air heater (seen from the
air direction) after the fan. Otherwise, the
fan motor overheats. Note the air direction
arrow on the housing.
Important notes
●
Installation only permissible with
terminal box installation location facing
upwards or sideways. The terminal box
may not face downwards.
●
If the inflow speed is lower than 1.5 m/s,
the electric air heater switches off
automatically (= forced shut-off), to avoid
the device from overheating. The unit goes
into a fault condition.
To avoid this, an
LW9 air flow monitor must be installed
which switches off the air heater in
case of flow velocities of < 1.5 m/s.
●
Lay a piece of duct, that is at least 1...1.5 m
long, between the electric air heater and
fan to ensure optimal air flow (flow-calming
section for perfect air flow).
●
Maintain distances:
between electric air
heater and duct bend/fan/air filter/shutters
min.
double the duct Ø
, e. g. ERH 16-2
with Ø min. 320 mm. An insufficient
distance can cause an uneven air flow
which can trigger the thermal cut-off.
●
Use non-flammable materials for the
insulation.
●
The terminal box must be freely acces-
sible. The rating plate must be easy to
read after installation and insulation.
10. Mounting
Mounting is to be performed
correctly in accordance with the
valid regulations for ventilation
channels.
