carefully.

Safety points concerning the battery:

• not rechargeable
• do not incinerate
• dispose off as prescribed.

This instrument conforms to the EU-recommendations 89/336/EWG concerning
electromagnetic compatibility.

Important notes concerning first time use

The Digital Universal Caliper requires no extensive care. In order to ensure stable accuracy and
function the following should be observed:

• protect the Universal Caliper from dust, water or oil
• keep the beam clean and dry by periodically wiping over it with a dry, clean cloth
• when the data exit is not in use keep it closed, using the respective cover
• do not subject the caliper to any electric current (i.e. electric marker pen)
• unauthorized opening of the instrument forfeits the warranty.

Introduction

The Digital Universal Caliper 25 ES is used for measuring of outside and inside measurements,
external and internal threads, hole centre distances, registers, narrow collars, grooves, dovetails,
outside and inside tapers, external and internal tapers. Patented mounting of measuring arms resp.
mounting attachments is provided on the upper or lower longitudinal edge of both measuring arm
holders. The application range for internal and external measurements can be extended by 75 mm by
reversing the measuring arms. Virtually all measuring tasks can be solved on account of the various
operating functions of the instrument and of the wide range of accessories.
