Step III: Configuring LTFS Manager Software
Open up the LTFS Manager application. Click ‘Re-scan for tape drives’ if the drive is not visible by the
manager. Before inserting the media into the drive, verify that the media does not have the write lock
enabled. Once the cartridge is inserted, click on the ‘Prepare Cartridge’ heading and under the ‘Physical
control’ box click ‘Load’. Once this is completed, you will need to click ‘Format’ inside of the ‘Logical
Control’ box.
A box will appear requesting you to name the tape value. Next, it will ask you if you would like to specify
a serial number for your tape. It is recommended that you use the 6-digit barcode that is present on the
tape.
